Hurricane Delta Aiming for Gulf Coast

VP of Government Affairs, Enlyte Pharmacy Solutions

Hurricane Delta is expected to regain strength as a Category 3 storm and is forecast to reach the Gulf Coast on Friday, impacting Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, areas still recovering from Hurricane Sally. Alabama and Louisiana have declared states of emergency. The Alabama supplemental declaration ordered the evacuation of all persons without a hurricane pass—typically non-residents.

The Mitchell team will be implementing emergency dispensing protocols in areas anticipated to be impacted by Hurricane Delta. The emergency protocols will allow claimants to obtain early refills on approved medications in advance of the storm and will allow for longer fills incase access to pharmacy care is disrupted by the storm. We will continue to monitor the situation in the Gulf Coast and will adapt as states react to the coming storm.

The Alabama emergency declaration can be found here. The supplemental declaration can be found here.

The Louisiana emergency declaration can be found here.
