VP of Government Affairs, Mitchell Pharmacy Solutions, An Enlyte Company

The New York State Workers' Compensation Board announced on Monday, May 24, 2021, a delay in the implementation of the drug formulary for refills and renewals, the DME fee schedule and the launch of the OnBoard prior authorization system. All three of these initiatives were scheduled to go live on June 7, 2021. The Board did not specify a new date for the programs but did note that the start date will coincide with the launch of OnBoard: Limited Release, which is now expected sometime later this summer.

Notices announcing the formulary change scheduled for June 7, 2021, were previously sent to affected injured workers and their prescribing physicians in late April, per Board rule. No guidance has yet been provided on whether an updated notice may be required once a new launch date is set. The Mitchell government affairs team is closely monitoring information coming from the Board regarding the progress of the OnBoard system.

The Board notice regarding the delay can be found here.
