Mitchell Road Show Behind the Scenes

Mitchell Road Show Behind the Scenes

Part road trip, part trade show, and all adventure, The Mitchell Road Show marks its second year in 2015. The Road Show will eventually take members of our team to 10 cities, five each in the U.S. and Canada. In addition to providing us with an opportunity to showcase Mitchell’s suite of products and services, it’s also a chance to visit real collision repair shops and talk with the folks who have been using Mitchell products. The U.S. interviews appear in FenderBender magazine and Canadian interviews are published in Collision Repair Magazine.

So far this year, The Mitchell Road Show has been to Seattle, Phoenix, Miami, Philadelphia, Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, Halifax and Vancouver, and has conducted 14 interviews, with interviews in Dallas still to come. Team members include Pauline Perenack and Kate Fleming from Mitchell’s marketing team, Mitchell Directors of Sales Brian Moss, Joe Sucher, and Michel Gagnon, and Local Representatives Dan Ross, Frank Vaski, Kurtis Keala, Tyler Jacklyn, Aaron King and John Bedard.

A Typical Road Show Agenda

Prior to visiting a city, the Mitchell Road Show team contacts selected auto repair shops to get a quick profile on each shop’s history, which Mitchell products they use, why they use them and the benefits, along with a bit of background on the interviewee. On the day of the onsite visit, team members are given a tour of the facility with plenty of opportunities for photos and chats with personnel. The tours usually conclude with a meeting with the shop owner or manager to offer help with technical issues and to answer questions, and also introduce beneficial new and existing products.

A Positive, Learning Experience

The Mitchell Road Show team members are enthusiastic about the experience. Here are just a few comments from three of our local reps:

“Those in our industry tend to listen closely to shop testimonials. In the case of The Mitchell Road Show, our customers will effectively be speaking directly to the market about how our solutions help to improve their shops’ productivity and profitability, “said John Bedard, of Calgary, Alberta.

Brian Moss, Director of Sales for US West said, “I had a discussion at PPG with A and D, an Arizona shop, and they said they love Mitchell--a comment they wouldn’t have made prior to The Mitchell Road Show. It really makes the customer feel as if we are a valuable partner. It also makes them much more receptive to adding other Mitchell products. Also, other shops in the area take note and it elevates our status in the community.”

And Dan Ross, Solution Specialist for Northwestern Region, likes the positive buzz The Road Show creates around a shop when the team arrives. “It gives us an opportunity to see all the departments and the personnel using Mitchell products as mission-critical tools to perform their job functions. It really provides the proof-positive message that Mitchell delivers and listens to the customer.”

Want to be on The Mitchell Road Show Map?

We’re seeking brand fans in the U.S. and Canada. In exchange for participating in The Mitchell Road Show program, selected shops receive half-page editorials with photos in the digital and print editions of FenderBender or Collision Repair Magazine. Both editions are promoted by digital ads, landing pages and social media support. If you’re interested, contact your local Mitchell sales representative and let them know which of our products you’re using and why you like them.
