
2009 Mitchell International Casualty Claims Conference
Showcases Solutions to Drive Performance Improvements
Heightened competition and soft market creating greater focus on claims performance
San Diego, CA—April 06, 2009—Mitchell International, Inc., a leading provider of information, workflow and performance management solutions to the Property & Casualty claims and Collision Repair industries, today announced that its seventh annual Mitchell International Casualty Claims Conference, held on March 11-13 at the Lake Las Vegas Ritz Carlton, brought together more than 150 insurance industry delegates for high-level networking and shared insights on ways to improve claims processing performance.
Over a three-day period insurance carrier executives, claims processing experts and consultants from both the automobile and workers' compensation insurance industries participated in presentations and panels discussions on issues of critical importance to the automotive and workers' compensation claims marketplace including:
- A panel discussion with Ingenix and industry experts on risk management and the use of benchmark fees—particularly the current issue with New York's Attorney General Andrew Cuomo;
- A presentation by Zurich Insurance's Steve Arrambide highlighting the results of a case study in operational efficiency using Mitchell solutions;
- Overview of industry trends and data analytics in first and third party medical claims;
- Introduction to Mitchell and Healthcare Solutions Inc's. integrated network that helps improve claims performance using prospective care management in pharmacy and ancillary claims;
- Review of best practices and settlement of third party automobile claims using medical bill review, claim segmentation and professional review services;
- Presentation by Mitchell and the National Insurance Crime Bureau's on their joint efforts to attack medical fraud; and
- Mitchell product and solution breakout sessions for the casualty claim professional
Jim Morris, famous for his inspiring story of personal triumph and subject of Disney's movie "The Rookie," set the tone of the conference by motivating attendees to reach for their best performance and believe in themselves despite tough obstacles. "In many respects, Jim's story parallels the challenges carriers face in improving the performance in their casualty claims—too often they're told it can't be done," said Tom McCarthy," Executive Vice President at Mitchell International.
