President and CEO
Alex Sun joined Mitchell International, Inc. in 2001 and currently serves as the Company's President and Chief Executive Officer, guiding the Company's strategy and day-to-day operations. Prior to this appointment, Alex served as President and Chief Financial Officer until 2008. With a vision for serving the broader claims technology needs for the Property and Casualty claims and collision repair industries, Alex has led the company's expansion to achieve unparalleled breadth of technology, connectivity, and information service offerings.
Prior to joining Mitchell, Alex served as the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance and Administration for an enterprise software company (now part of The SAS Institute), with oversight of worldwide finance, legal, human resources, information systems, and facilities. Alex also spent approximately ten years with Merrill Lynch & Co., finally serving as Vice President in the Investment Banking Division, where he was responsible for providing corporate finance and strategic advisory services to financial services companies.
Alex currently serves on the Board of Directors of Mitchell International as well as the Board of Trustees of The Gillispie School and is a member of The Young Presidents' Organization. Alex is a graduate of The University of Chicago.
Executive Vice President and General Manager, Casualty Solutions
Nina Smith is Executive Vice President and General Manager of Mitchell International’s Casualty Solutions. In this position, Nina leads the Company’s Auto Casualty Solutions and Workers' Compensation Solutions divisions, overseeing an organization dedicated to bringing process improvement, greater efficiencies, and lower costs to customers while pioneering new standards and benchmarks in the casualty market. As a passionate, customer-centric business executive, Nina brings to Mitchell over 25 years of focused leadership in bringing client satisfaction and operational excellence to the technology sector.
Prior to joining Mitchell, Nina served as a Division President of Sage Software North America, a leader in business management solutions. Nina also served in multiple roles at Xerox Corporation where she rose from Product Marketing Manager to Vice President/General Manager, ultimately serving as Chief Marketing Officer. Nina holds a Bachelor of Arts, Management, from the University of Redlands.
Executive Vice President and General Manager, Auto Physical Damage
Debbie Day is the Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Auto Physical Damage (APD) business unit. In this role, she oversees an organization dedicated to bringing expansive solution and service offerings to customers while pioneering new standards and benchmarks in the auto physical damage claims and repairs markets. Debbie has more than nineteen years of technology strategy and operations experience to her credit, as well as a passion for delivering product innovation and enabling terrific customer experiences.
Prior to joining Mitchell, Debbie was the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President at ClosingCorp, and has also held executive positions at ACTIVE Network and CCC Information Services. Debbie holds a BS in Systems Analysis from Miami University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Executive Vice President, Strategy & Transformation
Dave Torrence joined Mitchell International in April 2005, bringing a wealth of experience in the auto physical damage insurance and casualty claims markets. As Executive Vice President for Mitchell’s Strategy & Transformation function, Dave leads strategy and business development, new product innovation and design, corporate marketing and branding, and business transformation initiatives committed to innovation, scale and a unified customer experience.
Prior to his current role leading our Strategy & Transformation function, Dave spent nine years as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Mitchell International's Auto Casualty Solutions, where he led the division through an extended period of phenomenal growth.
Before joining Mitchell, Dave served in a variety of operational roles in the insurance industry, including Assistant Vice President of Product Development and later as Assistant Vice President of Claims at the Auto Club Group (AAA affiliate), where he provided executive leadership to ACG's casualty claim operations and legal department. Dave holds a MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri.
Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer
Erez Nir is Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Mitchell International. In his role Erez oversees corporate IT functions (engineering, operations, business systems, and support services) as well as Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Reporting, and IT Enterprise Services across Mitchell's three primary business units—Auto Physical Damage, Auto Casualty Solutions and Workers' Compensation Solutions.
Erez previously served as Mitchell's Senior Vice President of Technology. In this role he defined Mitchell's technology vision and underlying roadmap to meet the challenges of the company's customers and its business partners.
Before joining Mitchell, Erez served as Vice President of Product Management and Marketing of Mobilitec Inc., and Vice President of Information Engineering for San Diego-based Wingcast, a Ford and Qualcomm joint venture. Early in his career he worked at Motorola™ and Nice™ Systems Ltd. in a variety of engineering, operations, and general management positions. Erez holds a BSc in Computer Science from the Technion, Israel's Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Senior Vice President, Human Resources
MG Kristian is the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Mitchell International. MG joined Mitchell in 2010, leading the Talent Management and Change Management processes and initiatives. She later assumed responsibility for the Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Payroll functions. Prior to joining Mitchell, MG was Vice President of Human Resources at Life Technologies serving in HR Business Partner, Talent Acquisition and M&A Integration leadership roles. Before that, MG held Human Resource leadership positions at Dell, Inc. and PepsiCo. MG’s passion is creating environments where employees can do their best work on behalf of customers and building the leadership capability to make that happen. To that end, her leadership contributed to Mitchell winning the grand prize for Workplace Excellence among San Diego companies in 2012. She also was recognized as an award winner in the prestigious San Diego Women who Mean Business Competition in 2011.
MG currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Second Chance Program in San Diego. She earned a Bachelor of Liberal Studies from Pace University.
Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Stephanie Kroon is Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for Mitchell International. Stephanie joined Mitchell in January 2014. Before joining Mitchell, Stephanie was Vice President and Associate General Counsel for CareFusion Corporation, an S&P 500 global medical technology company. Stephanie originally joined CareFusion as Senior Counsel for Alaris Medical Systems and during her tenure became Vice President, Associate General Counsel for Cardinal Health.
Prior to CareFusion, Stephanie was an associate at the law firm of Cooley LLP, specializing in general business and corporate law with an emphasis in representing emerging growth companies and investors in securities transactions, and also worked as in-house counsel at Tularik, a biopharmaceutical company. Prior to law school, Stephanie worked as a researcher in the Department of Neurology at Case Western Reserve University.
Stephanie serves on the board of directors of the San Diego chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) and has been a member of Athena San Diego since 2006.
Stephanie holds an undergraduate degree in Zoology from Miami University and a J.D. degree from The Ohio State University College of Law.
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Elias Olmeta joined Mitchell in April 2015 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Elias brings deep industry experience in the automotive and insurance claims markets. Before joining the team, Elias served as an executive consultant at CarProof, where he worked on strategy and operational initiatives.
Prior to CarProof, Elias held positions at Solera Holdings; first as their Senior Vice President of Corporate Development where he was responsible for Mergers and Acquisitions on a worldwide basis, and subsequently as Chief Financial & Operating Officer of North America leading Finance, Sales, and HR. Earlier career experiences include positions at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. and Arthur D. Little International as a member of their Strategy and Organization Practice. Elias holds an MBA in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts, Economics from the University of Rochester.
